PATENT DRAFTING · GERMANY / DPMA
Prepare a German national patent draft.
Turn your technical disclosure into a German-language draft for DPMA. Choose Germany (DE) separately from the European Patent Office (EP) workflow.
Prepare and edit your drafting plan without an account. Sign in when you're ready to generate a draft preview.
- BRING YOUR DISCLOSURE
- Paste your disclosure or upload a PDF, DOCX, TXT or Markdown file. Describe the problem, mechanism, components and alternatives you have actually developed.
- DEVELOP YOUR DRAFT
- German claims, description, necessary drawings and an abstract. Check every feature and figure against the original disclosure.
- CONTINUE IN WORD
- Export the unlocked draft to editable Word with DPMA text and drawing page layouts.
ILLUSTRATIVE DRAFTING EXAMPLE
A supported German claim can use single-part form.
A synthetic teaching example, not a customer document or the result of an actual product task.
Invention disclosure excerpt
This excerpt illustrates claim structure and terminology. Review scope and support for your own invention.
03Questions for the drafter
- Enablement: does the disclosure explain how the sensor, controller and fan implement both switching conditions?
- Scope: retain the disclosed relationships. PatV § 9 permits single-part or two-part wording; do not invent prior art to force a split.
- Prior art: the example does not establish novelty or inventive step. Assess those questions against verified documents.
FROM SOURCE MATERIAL TO REVIEW
Move through the draft with decisions you can inspect.
- 01
Describe the invention
Provide the actual structure or process, relationships, conditions and any substantiated observations.
- 02
Review the preparation plan
Review the drafting plan and select Germany (DPMA), independently of the interface language.
- 03
Prepare and edit the text
Prepare German claims, description, drawings and abstract. Keep terminology and reference signs consistent.
- 04
Review and export
Check technical support, missing information and the actual figures, then export the editable draft for professional review.
Before you start
How are drafting and export priced?
Start with a draft preview. Use eligible credits or a purchase to unlock the full text, editing and Word export. The price is shown before you pay.
View pricingWhat should I check before sharing an invention?
Review the privacy policy, including which AI providers process your content, and check that this meets your client's or organization's requirements before entering unpublished technical material.
Read the privacy policyHow does this differ from the EP workflow?
DE targets a German national patent at DPMA and produces German text. EP targets the EPO and retains its own drafting rules. The DE abstract recommendation is 1,500 characters, not the EPO 150-word recommendation.
Is the export a ready-to-file DPMA package?
It is an editable draft for review. The product does not file applications or supply request forms, signatures or a validated DPMAdirekt package. Check the original disclosure and final drawing legibility before filing.
